Shown here are the items included when you order a Meagher Ovary Flute, as well as the physical dimensions of the instrument.
- The package includes a brush used to clean the inside of the body of the instrument (D).
- The shaft that slides inside the body of the instrument (D) is made from highly durable, easy-to-clean non-porous plastic. On the left end are tabs that allow the operator to slide the shaft back and forth, and to securely lock the cutting tip in its exposed and retracted positions. The cutting tip is threaded onto the right end of the shaft for easy replacement, and the shaft features a patented groove along its length that allows air to enter the peritoneum while working, greatly increasing the safety of the procedure.
- A spare cutting tip is included, and threads easily onto the end of the shaft (B).
- The body of the instrument is made from stainless steel tubing. Not only is it strong, but it resists corrosion from common disinfectants and soap, making the process of cleaning the instrument safe and simple. An oval chamber has been cut out to careful specifications on the underside near the front. It is just big enough to accommodate a single ovary, reducing the risk of trapping other tissue during the procedure. The front section of the tool stores the severed ovaries for removal from the animal. See the close-up picture below.
- A canvas carrying-bag has pockets for all the items shown, and is suitable for autoclaving.
